My Weight Loss Journey: Healthier Habits and Progress

Since the beginning of the year, I set myself a goal of to get healthy and begin a weight loss journey. So, I’m not 100% confident and sharing my actual weight but I do want to go on and explain a bit about my goals.

My main goal with my weight loss journey to get into healthier habits, such as walking more, doing more things to get more active, etc. I have made it a habit to do at least 30 minutes of some sort of physical activity whether it be going for a walk or doing a little workout at home.

If you know me I am a person that tends to hyper-fixate myself on certain numbers, items, just about anything. So this is what happened within a month span when I stopped focusing on a number and just started focusing on how I felt and what I did.

Last time I weighed myself, it showed me to losing almost 50lbs. That is huge for me because I haven’t been at this weight in almost 10 years! This is only almost 3 months into the year and I’m getting this far into my weight loss.

With each 10lbs that I lose I have given myself a reward and so far I have been able to reward myself with 4 rewards. The first reward was going to get my nails done, I haven’t been able to go and get them done yet. The second reward was going to get a new book, which I have the money for just haven’t had the time to go pick out the book I want just yet. The third is a pedicure with one of my best friends, who also happens to be my matron of honor. I haven’t thought much on the other rewards after that besides when I hit my goal weight of getting new clothes.

I barely see a change but the people around me tell me that they see a change. I know that there’s a change only because my jeans and pants are getting baggy and lose which makes me excited to see how this weight loss journey.

This entire process has been very emotional because I have always been the “bigger” girl. In today’s world for my height and weight I would be considered “obese.” I have always hated for the way that my body looked. I wasn’t the typically body type, small waist and such.
